How To Write The Perfect Blog Post In 15 Minutes Or Less

perfect blog postFirst of all, there is no such thing as the “perfect” blog post.

Haha, fooled you huh? (I really am laughing)

But there is a way to write a really good blog post in a really short amount of time. I do it all the time. And though I am one of those freaks who loves to write, surprisingly I too run out of flippin things to talk about. (Who knew?)

And I also have a business to run with clients and some other unpleasant things. So this blogging thing has to get done, and quick sometimes.

Ready to write the perfect blog post? Timers on!

Write what you know

When you write what you know the words just flow easier, and much quicker. Don’t know anything? Develop a habit of reading at least 5 publications a day about your industry. Then you’ll know something. (Fixed that).

Write what you feel

Same idea as writing what you know. If you write something that comes from your heart, it’ll be much easier to write it. It’s got to be natural and when you are passionate about something, everyone who reads it can tell.

It’s a real treat to your readers. (But not better than ice cream).

Write your conversation

Imagine you are talking to your best friend, a co worker, hell you can imagine you are talking to me if you want. When you write how you naturally communicate instead of stopping to whip out a thesaurus every five minutes to sound sophisticated, it becomes much easier to write.

Write now, polish later

Writing time should be reserved for guess what? Writing. This means just write. Don’t fuss with formatting, grammar, etc… Just set the timer, and write.

This is one of the most effective things I have found when it comes to pumping out massive amounts of content for your blog.

Remember this one KEY element about blogging

Blogging is a form of social media. It’s where you share your ideas. There is no “right” or “wrong” way to do ANYTHING. There is just you sharing what you know.

Or you can just look at it as taking a healthy dose of lightening the fuck up. (Sorry, it had to be said)

Okay, is this 15 minute thing REAL?

Well, I’m 10 minutes into this post. Really. Now of course I will go back and polish it off, link it to some of my other content, and schedule it for publishing.

But the words are out, my ideas are on paper, and I just wrote the perfect blog post.

Are you sure you’re paying attention. This is good people. *pats self on back, rolls up sleeves*

    Awesome Angie!

” Writing time should be reserved for guess what? Writing. This means just write. Don’t fuss with formatting, grammar, etc… Just set the timer, and write.”

Last month I forced myself to write everyday. One in the morning, one in the afternoon and one at night. I didn’t really manage to spend all the time to write but something happens I didn’t expect.

I started to note bits and pieces and then complete the whole thing as I got the time. That’s where the magic happens. I begin to do the formatting and the grammar thingy, photos, and etc… Then I hit publish.

It’s a great advise! Don’t fuss writing, formatting and grammar. Write first and worry about the rest later.

Thanks Jong! It’s true, you really have to be committed to writing, even when you don’t feel like it. That’s when you become a professional and not just an amateur! Thanks for dropping by and leaving your mark on my blog!
